Jacqueline Mcleish is a multi-disciplinary visual artist based on the South Coast of NSW, Australia.She works with ceramics, drawing, painting and Installation art to create figurative works that draw on her work and research in archives. She explores ways of recording and indexing in combination with themes of memory and ritual. She has an interest in the handmade and craft traditions which manifests in her work as a celebration of limitation and locality.
Jacqueline Mcleish has a Bachelor of Creative Arts from the University of Wollongong (2012) and achieved Honours in 2017 (First Class). She is currently enrolled in a PhD at this same local institution under the guidance of Agnieszka Golda and Jo Law.
Jacqueline Mcleish also practices as an illustrator named Jackie Mostek, and considers this practice as a kind of performative work, satiating her desire for exploring similar yet importantly other identities.
